Originally a working farm, Nutley Edge is now a tranquil rural holiday complex nestled against the historic Ashdown Forest, East Sussex.In 2012, Outward invested in Nutley Edge Cottages to offer people with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum conditions supported holidays.

When you join us on one of our supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, you’ll have five days to explore our 11-acre grounds, get to know your fellow guests, or take part in varied activities led by local experts. We also visit some of South East England’s best attractions.

What you will get up to:

Every supported holiday has a different theme, so you can choose a break with activities you love or discover something new. All of them are full of homemade delicious food, music and disco nights and a chance to make new friends. Our themes include…

What’s included in the price

As a charity, our aim is to keep our supported holidays financially accessible, so we do what we can to keep prices low and quality high. Starting at only £1,345, our pricing includes:

  • All food for the holiday, cooked by our trained staff and some meals out in restaurants
  • Accommodation with your own bedroom in a self-contained cottage
  • All activities for the week
  • One to four staffing ratio and sleep-in cover
  • Full support with personal care and medication by our trained staff for those who require it
  • Additional 1:1 support, 2:1 support or waking night support can be arranged at an additional cost

What is not included:

Money for souvenirs or snacks you can buy on our day trip and that’s it!

Good to know:

 Before you join us, we complete a personalised assessment to ensure we know important things about you, how you wish to receive your support and then you can relax and enjoy your holiday. It will give you a chance to meet us and give your families peace of mind that you will be well supported.

Everything is taken care of from when you arrive at our pick-up point in East London or near Nutley Edge to when you return home. Just bring your spending money. Adventure and relaxation await!

Experienced support staff

Trusting somebody new to support your loved ones on holiday can be stressful. We understand that it’s important that you feel confident in our expertise. Nutley Edge Activity Breaks are run by Outward staff, who are experienced in empowering adults with learning disabilities and autism. All of our supported holidays team are fully trained in administering medication, providing personal care and all other support and care training in accordance with CQC regulations. On average, we provide one staff member for every four guests, however we can work with you to provide more staff if needed.
