Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much are the breaks?
A: Our breaks vary from £1085 to £1125. This is due to seasonal changes in accommodation costs and the activities featured in each break.
Q: Are the breaks inclusive and what’s included?
A: Yes, our pricing is all inclusive! It includes support workers at a 1:4 support ratio, sleep-in cover, on-call, all accommodation, all travel, all food, admin costs and all activity costs.
Q: Can we support people with medication and money?
A: Yes! All staff are trained in administering medication, supporting people with finances, health and safety, equality and diversity, emergency first aid, fire safety, safeguarding, infection control, wheelchair use, dysphagia, food hygiene, and epilepsy awareness.
Q: Can people come with their own support?
A: You’re welcome to bring your own support if you prefer. There is an extra cost of approximately £345.09, which covers the extra staff food, travel, and accommodation.
Q: Can Outward provide a 1:1 support worker?
A: Yes! If you’d like us to provide 1:1 support on your holiday, there will be an additional charge of £1,182.45 on top of the price of your chosen break.
Q: Do you cater for allergies, dietary and cultural needs?
A: Yes. In our support assessment form we will ask if someone has any dietary or cultural needs as well as allergies or any other medical needs.
Q: Do guests share rooms?
A: No, every guest get their own room and they either share a cottage with 1 other guest or with a support worker, depending on their level of need.
Q: Are meals provided?
A: All food is provided throughout the week as part of their booking fee.
Q: How much money does a guest need to bring?
A: It varies! Some guests bring £10 and some bring up to £100! We would advise that guests bring around £40 as this is plenty but it depends on what they wish to buy. All food and drink is covered so spending money is just for souvenirs.
Q: Do you collect each guest from their home on the first day?
A: While we do not offer home pick-up, we do have a meeting point in Wood Street Walthamstow, East London from where our coach departs to Nutley Edge. Guests need to be supported there for 9:30am on the morning of the break and collected at 3:30pm on the final day. If guests do not live in London, then we arrange to meet them on route to Nutley Edge at the first activity destination.
Q: What are the holiday themes?
A: Winter Warmer, Arts and Craft, Food Lovers, East Sussex Sightseeing, Sports and Outdoor Pursuits, Mad about Animals, Summer Holiday, Bonfire and Halloween, Pampering and Christmas.
Q: How do we pay for the breaks?
A: You can either pay all in one go or through instalments – whichever works best for you. Guests can pay via cheque, over the phone, or through their bank. All payment details will be on the invoice. Please note the invoice reference number on the cheque to ensure we know who has paid.
Q: What information do you have one site?
A: We have a list of emergency contact information for health providers and hospitals. We also have walkie talkies on site for when phone reception might be bad.
