Catherine House

Catherine House

Catherine House in Hackney, London, is our supported living scheme for people aged 18-30 with profound and multiple learning disabilities and who might have additional health conditions.

Offering 8 newly refurbished self-contained flats, with many of the flats having a number of adaptations for people who may be wheelchair users. It is situated in the centre of Hackney, close to local services and transport links and is only a short distance from Victoria Park and London Fields. Over its three floors, this fully adapted environment includes a lift, comfortable communal lounge and dining space for social opportunities.

One of the flats would be very suitable for someone with mild or moderate learning disabilities and possibly some additional health needs, who is a wheelchair user. The person might be semi-independent or working towards more independence in many aspects of daily living. The adapted flat also has a fully accessible kitchen including height adjusted sink, work units and electric hob to enable independence.

Our fully trained staff team is available 24 hours a day to deliver person-centred support packages that are designed to meet the needs of our young people, offering a wide range of tailored support, advice and assistance.

The service offers a core support package that includes shared waking nights and sleepover staff, and day support tailored to individuals need, with both shared hours and one-to-one support available.

An optional programme of community activities is available each day from the Hub Club, which supports adults with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions, with opportunities to get involved in activities across Hackney.
