Floating Support

Floating support is our service providing domestic advice and support to people over the age of 18, to enable them to maintain independence in their own homes. Floating support services are short-term (supporting people for less than two years) and are flexibile enough to support a person regardless of the type of accommodation in which he or she lives.

Our floating support services

  • people with learning disabilities in Waltham Forest.

This kind of support service helps people to become more independent, and may mean that they can continue to live independently at home when, without support, it would be difficult for them to do so.

Floating support can help with

  • Maintaining a home or tenancy

  • Budgeting and benefit claims

  • Developing independent living skills

  • Gaining access to other services, including important health services

  • Helping to make sure accommodation is safe and secure.

We cannot provide personal or health care through floating support. Other sources of funding are available for these services.
