Outward is a vibrant and innovative charity that provides support to adults with learning disabilities and people on the autistic spectrum. We also support older people and young care leavers. We have a thriving housing department which manages the housing provision working primarily with Newlon Housing Trust. Our footprint stretches across North and North East London; encompassing 9 London Boroughs. We employ 400 plus staff to work to promote the wellbeing and independence of all those we support.
COVID and lockdowns saw a change in the way we recruited, inducted and trained staff. We moved from predominantly class room based teaching to online provision. This brought new opportunities and improved digital skill-sets- it also highlighted what we miss in face to face interaction.
We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development Lead who can look at our existing training offer, evaluate what we need going forward and create a training programme fit for the future. Our ethos is about supporting people to make the most of their training opportunities by measuring the impact that that training has on improving the lives of the people we support

The main focus of the role is to work alongside the HR and Care & Support team, to develop, and implement a refreshed training programme – that is stimulating, professional and contributes to the value we place on staff. This in turn will ensure our services are delivered to the highest standard of quality and meet with regulatory standards.
We are currently particularly interested in improving our offer to new, aspiring and long term managers.

Key tasks & Responsibilities
- To work with the HR Director, HR Manager, and the HR team in reviewing, developing and implementing Outward’s Learning and Development strategy.
- Develop L&D plan in line with the corporate objectives
- Produce reports as needed
- Deliver organisational continuous improvement as evidenced by data
- Support managers and staff with learning activities
- Ensuring that the compliance programs for Outward are met
