Albert Cottages is one of Outward's supported living services, which is set up as a stepping stone to a more independent life.
I have lived at Albert Cottages since 2004. Since I moved to Albert Cottages I have received support in many areas, including finance, budgeting, food shopping and reading and explaining my correspondence. I have enjoyed being supported to become a more independent individual. I am a keen cook and enjoy preparing new dishes for members of staff.
I spend the majority of my time with my girlfriend Ayleen. Ayleen and I are moving this summer to a new private flat in Stratford. Both Ayleen and I have been receiving additional support from Outward to prepare us for our move. Later this year we plan to get married.
Both Ayleen and I like the support we receive from Outward because the support staff are nice people who are helpful and friendly. The support staff are also easy to get on with and have helped us become more independent.
