Russell has over twenty years' experience of working in a wide range of services. These include early years, children, young people and adults (all with and without learning disabilities). He has a Diploma in Youth and Community Development, a Certificate in Management (post graduate) and Prince2 project management.
Russell joined Outward in 2007 in the newly-created post of Director of Learning Disability Services. He is responsible for the management and development of registered care services, outreach teams, supported living services and the autism service. Immediately prior to joining Outward, Russell worked for four years at Southwark Primary Care Trust where he was the programme director for SureStart (north-east locality). Previously Russell was the director of Barnet Mencap and worked as a children's services coordinator for Lambeth Education Department. He has also managed a day centre in Barnet for adults with multiple and profound learning and physical disabilities.
