Outward prides itself in providing high quality services and involving service users to develop and improve those services. Our commitment to the person centred approach is paramount in all we do.
In autumn 2006, fifteen service users partnered by fifteen staff took part in a pilot mulit-media course offered by the University of East London. Each service user produced his or her own individualised Person Centred Plan. Some of these were plans were presented by service users to a meeting of the Quality Committee of Outward's Board and also at the Day Conference in December. You can see more about this on the Events section of this website.
Participation Development staff have devised an in-house training package for staff so they can support any service users who want one to start work on their own Person Centred Plan using a variety of media. These will be in a form that is accessible to each individaul service user enabling him/her to communicate their needs, wishes, dreams etc to their circle of support.
