Volunteer

Outward has a proud history of involving volunteers and we are always looking for committed and friendly volunteers. Volunteers make a valued contribution to people's lives by reducing isolation, sharing skills and working alongside staff to create meaningful independence for vulnerable adults.

Roles

Volunteering at Outward is a great way to learn about supporting people and understanding their view of the world. We offer a wide range of rewarding roles throughout east and north London.

Support Assistants - part time
Our part-time volunteers commit to volunteer supporting clients a regular basis. Duties vary and can range from befriending elderly residents, going to a disco with a person with learning disabilities or organising meetings in our young people's services.

Support Assistants - full time
We have a dedicated team of full-time volunteers that volunteer their time for up to 35 hours per week. In return we provide accommodation in London, reimburse living expenses and offer on-going support and training.

Projects Leaders - arts, social & community
Project Leader volunteer alongside our clients to manage our varied social and community projects such as our music group, Theatre Company or Volunteer Club. Project Leaders can also be involved in supporting the work of the Involvement and Volunteering Team.

Employee Volunteering
Outward have a range of one off volunteering opportunities for organisations who wish to contribute to their local community. We have wide experience of working with many large businesses and their employees on a range of projects for our clients.

Supporting Volunteers
We are accredited by Investors in Volunteers and have a dedicated Involvement and Volunteering Team to support volunteers. Here are some of the ways we support our volunteers:

• Orientation training
• Structured induction and shadowing process
• Reasonable travel and lunch costs
• Regular social events
• Career development opportunities
