Our Supported Housing Service provides safe, supported housing for young people living in the London Borough of Hackney. Our team are committed, friendly and professional and support young people towards true independence and a home of their own.

Who qualifies?

The service is open to young people who meet the following criteria:

  • Between 16 & 21 years old
  • Assessed and accepted as being homeless by the local authority
  • Have an allocated Case Officer or Social Worker
  • Entitled to Welfare and Housing Benefits
  • Have been assessed for housing and support needs
  • Have a completed risk assessment
  • Have a support plan in place

Most of the interim accommodation we provide is fully furnished shared accommodation located in the Clapton area of Hackney. Once this has been achieved, our team continue to provide support for up to six months beyond the moving in date.

The service

The service has been developed around seven core values which underpin the delivery of the service and ensure the right approach in working with vulnerable young people:

  • To treat young people with respect at all times
  • To communicate with young people in a mature and adult manner
  • To not judge young people
  • To respect the human rights of young people
  • To not discriminate or judge ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexuality, disability, gender or age
  • To maintain confidentiality as long as it does not put others at risk
  • To be punctual and reliable and meet young people in the place of their choosing
