Outward Projects

Diversifying the work of our charity

Our development projects represent a significant investment for us. In addition to extending the range of the care and support we provide, we also aim to diversify our business to create additional services for vulnerable people.

The development of a rural activity/respite centre

We are in the early stages of planning a project that will provide rural respite and non respite accommodation for vulnerable people. We also intend that the site will incorporate a range of social enterprise initiatives that provide development opportunities for the people that use the site.

The plan is to purchase an appropriate site and develop it towards our project objective - which is to create a rural respite/activity centre to benefit vulnerable people living in the inner city. We will build or convert a main building into high quality respite accommodation and undertake the development of the surrounding land in stages. We anticipate that the completed site will include:

  • Respite and non-respite accommodation
  • A swimming pool
  • Social enterprise projects and vocational opportunities
  • Ecological programmes & woodland management schemes
  • Residential personal and vocational training programmes
  • Training and conference facilities
  • Gardens and nature trails
  • Shop & Café facilities
