Improving Services

Internal Agency - An innovative approach to providing care and support

The personalisation agenda gives us the opportunity to be even more creative in meeting people's needs. As a charity committed to personalisation we are proud to say that we have always provided individualised and tailored services that improve people's lives. Our Internal Agency is a significant step forward in revolutionising the way in which we provide quality, trained staff to support vulnerable people

How it Works

Our Internal Agency provides a personalised and flexible approach to staffing services and better meets the needs of both the people that use our services and those that support them. Staff are recruited, trained and attached to a cluster of services within which they provide ongoing support. This flexibility allows Personal Assistants to manage the hours that they work and removes the need to employ external agency staff which interrupts the consistency of service delivery.

The benefits of this approach

  • Service user is familiar with their core team
  • Consistency in the quality of care and support
  • An flexible team supporting vulnerable adults
  • Reduction in the use of external agency staff
  • Flexible hours - some Personal Assistants work full time hours, whilst others provide a minimum hours service and provide cover
  • A Quick and efficient response to staffing needs
  • Internal Agency staff receive the same training and development as permanent staff

Where we are now

  • A month on month increase in the support hours delivered by the Internal Agency
  • Upwards of 130 Internal agency staff and rising
  • A monthly average 7,500 support hours delivered per month and rising
  • Feedback from service users and service managers is consistently positive
