Manager Positions - Learning Disability Services

Outward, is an expanding, not for profit organisation undergoing significant and continuous change. We support people in a range of services – from outreach support, supported living and registered care services. We are continuing to shape our services to deliver on the personalisation agenda.  We have a range of management positions available as we continue to grow and require motivated, driven and strong individuals to lead teams to deliver services that people with learning disabilities want and need.

We have positions available on permanent and/or temporary and flexible ‘zero hours’ contracts. If you feel you can bring a fresh approach, some new ideas and a commitment to supporting people with learning disabilities to have genuine control over their lives and be a real part of the community, then please call us to discuss these opportunities in further detail.

We have are especially keen to hear from candidates that have experience of autism, challenging behaviour and dual diagnosis. These are key posts within Outward that require experienced managers with strong leadership skills. The successful candidates will have excellent management skills, sound knowledge of legislative requirements.

The salary band for these posts is £27,230 to £33,511 for Outer London services and £28,772 to £35,053 for Inner London services. You may be required to work some evenings and weekends or do occasional sleep-ins, for which there is an additional payment of £32.94. We also offer 5 weeks annual leave, a contributory pension scheme and free life assurance.

If you have experience in providing high quality support to individuals on the autism spectrum then we want to hear from you. This role requires competent, creative and committed people who can role model best practice within their teams. As a Support Worker you will be required to support our Clients in all aspects of their everyday lives. These are challenging roles and a fantastic opportunity for someone with the right skills and aptitude to develop their career the growing field of autism.

We have several vacancies in  our  ASD  specialist outreach service  that works in 5 London Boroughs across North and East London.

This post is offered on a full time basis at 36 hours per week. You will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You might also be required to do sleep-ins.

Internal Agency Support Workers - Grade 1

£8.50 per hour

Our support workers have the satisfaction of teaching individuals new skills, sharing in their achievements and making the world an easier place for them to be in by helping them make sense of their world. It’s hard work too – there’s practical and physical aspects to the role, like helping people get washed and dressed, emotional support when things are tough, shopping, cooking, swimming, budgeting – all the things we manage every day that our service users need help with. You will need to be a good communicator in order to support our service users and have good written English in order to communicate with your teams and manager .

These posts are available as part of or Internal Agency, which allows staff the flexibility to choose their own working pattern. This is subject to the needs of the service and a commitment of between 15 and 36 hours per week is required. Flexibility in meeting service user needs is essential. Our supported living services operate a shift system with support workers working an early shift, late shift, or a night shift. The outreach team cover similar hours according to service users needs – all services work 7 days a week including bank holidays.

Internal Agency Support Officers

We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and committed people to join our own Internal Agency.  This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our teams working across North and East London supporting vulnerable people, including those who are ex-street homeless, have learning disabilities or mental health support needs.

If you feel you can bring a fresh approach, some new ideas and a commitment to supporting vulnerable people to have genuine control over their lives, play an active role in the community and develop as individuals then we want to hear from you.

If you have experience in providing high quality support to vulnerable client groups then the Support Officer role is for you. This role requires competent, creative and committed people who can role model best practice within their teams. As a Support Officer you will be required to support our Clients in all aspects of their everyday lives.

Working with us as part of our Internal Agency, we offer Support Officer roles on a sessional basis. With the flexibility to choose your own shifts you can work between 2 and 48 hours per week, however a willingness to be flexible in order to meet the needs of our service users is essential. This will involve working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.  We are a forward thinking organisation, committed to providing the best support possible to vulnerable people therefore you will be provided with comprehensive training and will be supported every step of the way to develop your career with us.

Internal Agency Personal Assistants

Outward is a forwarding thinking organisation, committed to providing the best support possible to vulnerable people across North and East London.

If you are experienced, or interested in gaining experience in working with people with learning disabilities, this could be the role for you. We want to employ local people in North and East London to help us provide a service to people with learning disabilities – this can involve anything from helping them with their shopping, supporting them to go to the pub, get dressed or go to the theatre for the night. Basically, support is about helping someone else to manage their daily lives – and hopefully make a positive difference to it!

Working for Outward as part of our own Internal Agency we offer 24 hour, 7 day a week support to our clients so a willingness to be flexible in order to meet their needs is essential. This will involve working evenings, weekends and bank holidays.  These posts are available on a sessional basis and paid at £7.50 to £8.50 per hour,
